Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): The Livingstone Foundation International (LFI) organised its annual event, the Graduation Ceremony for the Grade-XII batch of 2023-24, on February 10. A total of 110 students from the batch will be appearing for their CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) Board Finals soon.

The ceremony started with a special prayer by Rev Fr Joe Mariadhas, Director of Shalom Rehabilitation Centre, and the lighting of the candles by the founders and administrators of LFI, Arthur Edwards and Nisheli Edwards.

According to an LFI release, during his exhortation, LFI Chairman Dr Ahoto termed the graduating students as the luckiest ones, blessed beyond all measures compared to the students of bygone days. He encouraged the graduating batch to carry forward the legacy and motto of the school, 'Learn to Serve,' and to espouse the habit of giving back to society, not being selfish or self-centered but benevolent and kind towards everyone, especially those who are underprivileged.

Earlier, welcoming the gathering, LFI Director Ani Yepthomi underscored the strong belief and vision of the school that education is the keystone to channeling today’s curious, impulsive, and seeking young minds, transforming them into sensible, sensitive, and intelligent people who know their worth and the impact they can make in the world.

Terming the graduating students as the heartbeats of the LFI family, she challenged them to pour out their hearts, souls, and passion into whatever they set out to do and be trendsetters in their simple and small ways.

Head Boy, Henjoy Ham, and the Head Girl Anna Zimo spoke on behalf of the graduates. The programme also featured a pre-recorded video by Dr. Rhondemo Kikon, an alumnus of LFI, who is a medical doctor by profession and the founder of Community Health Initiative (CHI), an NGO based in Nagaland, India.

Other highlights included the administration of the Pledge of Honour to the graduates by the LFI Director, distribution of graduation certificates, a special song by LFI alumnus and popular singer, Nikato Y Tamang, showcasing video snippets by LFI juniors wishing their seniors, the release added.
