Lhisemia Council enforce rules for KMC dumping site users

Kohima, March 23 (MExN): The new team of Lhisemia Council of Kohima Village, during its first round of inspection of the roads under its jurisdiction, observed that the approach road leading to the KMC dumping site at Medi, Kohima is in a very bad condition causing much inconvenience for all the commuters both vehicles and pedestrians alike.  

The Council has therefore, in co-ordination with the KMC initiated repair and maintenance works including construction of drainage on the said road since February 23, 2018.  

On the concluding day of the work, the KMC Executive Officer Kethosituo Sekhose and Lhisemia Council officials jointly inspected the work. In presence of the earlier, the council has declared certain rules and regulations such as control of rash driving, prohibition of way-side spilling/throwing of garbage, proper covering of garbage while transportation, defaulting vehicle and its party shall be made to clear the garbage again and dump it at the designated site etc for strict enforcement on all the users of this dumping site.  

The Lhisemia Council therefore, informs all users of this KMC dumping site to co-operate and give proper instructions to the drivers engaged for transportation of wastes from your colony/ward. The Council also informs that, violating the aforesaid regulations shall invite a penalty of upto Rs.10,000 and the vehicles shall be seized until such time the owners report to the council.  

“These regulations shall be enforced with immediate effect. All concerned are therefore requested to take this as a public interest initiative and comply with the same,” Setuo Kelio Chairman and Ketouvizo Tseikha, General Secretary Lhisemia Council of Kohima Village stated in a press release.
