The Lhisemia Youth Organization (LYO) Kohima village today destroyed seized liquor here at KMC dumping site in the presence of Lhisemia Council and Lhisemiapfü Krotho officials.
LYO president Salhourii Chielie told media persons that the seizure had been made by LYO along with Task Force on many occasions in compliance with its restriction on sale of alcohol within its jurisdiction.
Around 400 cases of beer and 200 cases of rum, amounting to Rs 20 to 25 lakh have been destroyed today, he said.
Lhisemia Council chairman Setuolie Keli-o and Lhisemiapfü Krotho president Ketsuse-ii Yhome also spoke at the brief function and lauded the effort of LYO in restricting the sale of liquor within Lhisemia khel jurisdiction.
Setuolie Keli-o asked the LYO to continue to fight against the sale of liquor within its jurisdiction.
Ketsuse-ii Yhome was optimistic that the effort of the LYO will go a long way in cleansing the ills in the present society and build a healthy future.
