
Dimapur, October 29 (MExN): The Northeast Festival under the theme ‘Connecting People, Celebrating Life’ was held from October 26 to 28. The event highlights comprised of organic food of Northeast state, vibrant fashion, handicrafts, music, dance, tourism, and creative performance showcased at Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts at Janpath, New Delhi.
The Liangmai community in Delhi represented by team from Liangmai Katinah Ruangdi, Delhi (LKRD) preformed folk dance at the event.
LKRD President Kenhilakbou Ringkangmai in a press release said, “The dance portrays the unique culture of Liangmai tradition and its richness in colours. It signifies not only the harmony and unity among the people but the importance of relation between men and nature.”
The Naga Students’ Union, Delhi (NSUD) General Secretary, Mathiuchunbou Rimai also the Coordinating member for the festival stated that it was encouraging to see the educated youth of the tribe who came far from home never forgotten their ancient culture and tradition.
Further, the press release stated that in the past years the Liangmai community living in Delhi had been participating in various Northeast platforms.
