Senapati, September 17 (NNN): Regarding the formation of new ‘Zeliangrong Baudi (ZB) Senapati Zone’ on September 12, the Liangmai Naga Council (LNC), Senapati Zone affirmed today that it will "continue to uphold the resolution of Liangmai People Convention not to party with Zeliangrong organizations until and unless a proper tribe wise federal structure is put in place." In a statement, LNC, Senapati Zone Chairman T Disimang said, "Zeliangrong Union (ZU) Senapati Zone and Zeliangrong Baudi (ZB) Senapati Zone were declared dissolved by their respective leaders in the meeting dated 20th August 2016 in order to pave way to form a common platform wherein all Zeliangrong people in the district could come together under one social organization." The move aimed to put an end to the prolonged tussle between ZU and ZB claiming to be an apex body, according to LNC, Senapati Zone Chairman. Accordingly, in the interest of the Zeliangrong people, the LNC Senapati Zone attended the meeting convened under the banner of Zeliangrong People Council (ZPC) to form a Zeliangrong civil organization with a brand new nomenclature, T Disimang added. "However, to our utter surprise, the house was asked to choose between ZU or ZB as the nomenclature for the new organization which totally contradicts to what was notified and resolved in previous meetings, " he stated. "Therefore, LNC Senapati Zone walked out of the meeting immediately as we don't see anything positive in reviving ZB or ZU which was already dissolved for good."
