‘Lighthouse’ is the latest music video by Kohima-based musician Bozio Nienu.
Released on February 7, the song is about finding ‘peace and calm’.
In an interaction with The Morung Express on Monday, the singer shared about the story behind the song.
“I wrote this song to stress and portray a happy place that exists in everybody, a picture or a thought or a memory which brings peace and calm. In my case, a lighthouse by the sea and I’m inviting somebody who has been troubled to come with me and create a new story to replace the hurt from yesterday,” Bozio said.
The vocals and music are not the only standout that Bozio serves throughout the video.
Shot in Jakhama, the entire music video captures vivid scenery of the trees, fields and hills in the area.
The Qhevika Swu and Mhalevil Chaya-directed video shows the singer in a number of natural settings with his guitar.
The calmness of the surroundings seems to complement the message in the lyrics of the song.
While releasing the video, Bozio had shared that the song is very special to him and added that he had been hospitalized in a critical condition weeks before the release.
Though not his first music video, Lighthouse is the first professional production for Bozio, whose bond with music began as a young boy in church. He has other cover songs and videos to his credit but in Bozio’s words, the musical association with the church will be there, “for as long as I live.”
Within hours of release, the video has garnered a lot of positive responses.
Followers reacted to the music video and called it ‘soothing’, ‘therapeutic and ‘refreshing’. Compliments were also showered on the cinematography.
Reacting to the positive feedback, Bozio shared that it has been very encouraging.
“Even people you least expect a message from showed their support and I feel overwhelmed by the way people received the song which is a lot more loving than I anticipated,” he said.
With the massive encouragement, the singer shared that he wishes to come up with a lot more.
While fans have been enquiring about an album, Bozio said that he might come up with an EP soon.
For now, Lighthouse is available on all major streaming platforms including Apple Music, Spotify, Google play, Jio Saavn, Gaana, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Wynk, etc.
