
Longleng, June 24 (MExN): The first meeting of the District Committee for Lighthouse Schools (DCLS), Longleng was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Dharam Raj at the office chamber of DC Longleng on June 23.
According to a DIPR report, the DC highlighted the role and responsibilities of the committee, the aims, and objectives of the lighthouse schools besides the purpose of short listing schools to impart a quality education in the district. He directed the School Education Department to submit the selected list of schools under Lighthouse in the district before the deadline for further submission to the SCLS for necessary action.
Speaking on behalf of the School Education department, ADEO Longleng reinforced and supplemented the DC’s briefing and the benefits and importance of the lighthouse schools project.
CMO Longleng and CDPO Longleng also shared the importance of lighthouse schools and expressed their willingness to give full cooperation and support for the success of the project and to ensure a quality education system in the district, the report stated.
NGOs present such as Phomla Hoichem and PPC also expressed their happiness for the project and assured to extend full cooperation and support to the committee and the Government for effective implementation of the programme, it added.
