DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 4 (MExN): Limasunep Jamir, IPS has taken over as the new Commissioner of Police, Dimapur with effect from February 3, 2017. Vechipa Vise, IPS has also taken over as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone- I, Dimapur.
The Commissioner of Police in press note issued through the Additional Dy. Commissioner of Police and PRO stated that the Police exist for the people and the people for the Police and, this symbiotic relation has always existed in one form or the other in every society.
Appealing to the citizens not to take law into their own hands, the new Commissioner of Police added that all the laws are products of social requirements and exist to serve the people, to maintain peace and order in society.
The Commissioner of Police has also sought the co-operation and support of the people to maintain peace and restore normalcy in the District. He assured that under his watch, Dimapur Police would tirelessly endeavor to provide a credible, transparent, accountable Police administration in the service of people to whom it is dedicated to serve.
