A lineman of the Power Department was killed after being electrocuted at Tizit Village during the early hours of August 10. According to a department official, the deceased, a senior work charge employee, had climbed a pole near a defunct transformer at around 3:00am, Saturday. The transformer had been disconnected from the power grid, after it was damaged several days back. However, the lineman, identified as one Winlao Konyak came into contact with lines above the transformer which were still active. The official said that the department was unaware as to the reason why the lineman had climbed the pole.
