Kohima, July 24 (MExN): YouthNet and Kohima College, Kohima has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on ‘Linking Education to Employment’. The aim of the MoU is to give the college students real work experience while they are in their Final Year, according to a press release from YouthNet.
Dr. Watijungshi Jamir, Principal, Kohima College termed it a landmark move as students from the college will get real life work experience while they are still in college.
Razuo Luho, who heads the Nagaland Job Centre, emphasized that NJC is connected with over 150 clients and they would facilitate the students to get real life experience while they pursue their education. This would also get them ready for employment when they graduate, he added.
Meanwhile, Lezo Putsure, Director, YouthNet said, “We need to keep our young people busy in doing productive things. Each year Government jobs are becoming more scare, on the brighter hand, the private sector is growing.”
Nagaland, Putsure added, will see more entrepreneurs and private players come in and that is when “we need to get our young people with the right skills.” Linking Education to Employment is starting tool to bridge this gap, he stated.
