
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 12 (MExN): The Lions Club of Dimapur Elite observed Mental Health & Well-being Week from October 4 to 12, as part of Lions Clubs International’s global focus on mental health. The week-long programme included a series of community-oriented events aimed at promoting mental wellness, reducing stigma, and encouraging holistic health.
Led by President Lion Meena Sethi, Secretary Prernaa Maheswarri, and Treasurer Sakchi Jainand, and coordinated by Lions Payal Jain and Kajal Jain, the initiative featured a mental health talk show and webinar with counselling psychologist Rashi Jain, free online and offline counselling sessions, yoga and breathing exercises conducted by Rita Singh, Zumba sessions with DWS Academy, and a pamphlet distribution drive at banks and hospitals to raise awareness on mental well-being.
The activities sought to foster awareness, encourage dialogue, and equip participants with tools for stress management and self-care. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth, professionals, and families across the community.
Club members highlighted the importance of mental health, stating that the initiative aimed to create safe spaces and ensure support for all individuals. The observance reinforced the Lions Club’s commitment to its motto “We Serve” and emphasized sustained efforts toward emotional resilience and societal wellness in Dimapur.
