Kohima, March 29 (MExN): One person was arrested for carrying liquor in his car by a team of District Intelligence Branch (DIB), Anti Vehicle Theft Squad (AVTS), and A/10 NAP (IR) on March 29 on NH 29 in Kohima. Ten cases of MC Rum were seized from the accused identified as Nikato Sumi (27). A press release from PRO, Kohima Police informed that the vehicle (Hyundai Santro - DL3C/AB4965) the accused was driver has also been seized and a regular vide South P.S case No.0016/2016 U/S 44 NLTP Act registered against the accused. Meanwhile, the team also recovered a vehicle which was stolen from Dimapur in 2012 and is wanted in East P.S case No.0102/2012 U/S 379 IPC. The vehicle, Maruti Alto bearing registration number NL07-9198, was intercepted from the same location on suspicion. During verification of the vehicle records, the status of the vehicle was ascertained. Accordingly, the Police Commissionerate of Dimapur was informed to take over the stolen vehicle and two accused from Kohima Police, the release added.
