Lirmen, January 2 (MExN): The Platinum Jubilee celebration of the Lirmen Students Union was held on December 28 and 29 at Lirem village under Mokokchung district under the theme ‘Resurgence’ with Dr. Benjongliba Aier, Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture & Chairman NSAMBA as chief guest.
While addressing the students Dr Benjongliba urged the students to pursue their education to become assets for the people not reliability. He also added the education should be pursued with a vision to help the people in various fields.
Lauding the student Union for attaining 75 years, the parliamentary Secretary said that that this village has produced many well-known personalities who were instrumental for the Ao’s and the Nagas.
He said without past we cannot do anything for the present and future and therefore urged the students to rectify their past errors and move ahead with a better approached which will be befitting for all.
The main speaker Mayang Lima (NJS) District & Session Judge Mon spoke on the topic 'Social Resurgence’. More than a thousand students from in and outside the state attended the two days jubilee celebration.
