Kohima, April 29 (MExN): Inaugurating the newly constructed GMS Rengmapani under the DMA scheme, SSA Kohima on April 27, Er. Levi Rengma, MLA & Chairman SDDPB appreciated the dedication of the community in encouraging quality education. He stressed on free and compulsory education to all children between the age group of 6-14 as a fundamental right under the 86th Amendment of the Indian constitution. Acknowledging SSA’s flagship program which is imparting quality education to millions of children through national funding, he urged the community and teachers to nurture the students in enabling them to become responsible citizens by living in deed and not in years. Challenging the community for more students’ enrolment, he also assured the villagers on more consultative meetings with the leaders and department for all round development of the area.
DEO /DPC, DMA SSA Kohima Senthang speaking on schools as places of joyful learning and sound environment stressed on a mutual teacher-student relationship. Assistant District co-ordinator (ADC) DMA SSA Kohima, Theyievillie speaking about the goal of SSA and RTE Act 2009 stressed on comprehensive and continuous evaluation (CCE) upon the students which aids in the ‘No detention policy’. Chen Kath, SIS SDEO Tseminyu spoke on the community’s in nurturing the school.
The programme was chaired by Senthonlo Kent, Chairman Village Council; Aga Tep, Pastor of the Rengmapani Baptist church pronounced the invocation while the welcome address was delivered by Gwasinlo Kemp, Head G.B. The vote of thanks was delivered by Nophato Tep, Head Teacher GPS & GMS Rengmapani. Folksongs were presented by Rengmapani women folk and an expenditure report was read out by Ruyolo Thong, Chairman of the Village Education Committee (VEC). The program was supervised and attended by ADC Tseminyu, SDEO(Civil) Tseminyu ,OC Tseminyu, Daniel Tep, President of the Independent Party, Tseminyu, public leaders ,GBs and student leaders according to a press release issued by Mr .T. Rengma Project Assistant DMA,SSA Kohima.
