Livestock farmers asked to get animals vaccinated

Kohima, February 2 (MExN): The Directorate of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry has informed all the livestock and poultry farmers in the State to approach nearest district hospitals, dispensaries, health centres and veterinary farms to get their animals vaccinated for prevention of poultry and animals diseases like Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD), Block Quarter (BQ), Haemorrhegic Sepliceamic (HS), Entrotexaemia (Etx), Classical Swine Fever (CSF), Canine Rabies and poultry diseases like Remikhet and Fowl Pox etc.

  The department informed that vaccines are available, procured under the centrally sponsored schemes- Assistance to State for Control of Animal Diseases (ASCAD).   Veterinary & Animal Husbandry director Dr. R. Thungchamo Ezung further directed all the concerned officer in-charge of the veterinary health centres and farms to keep vaccines ready for convenience of the livestock and poultry farmers in the State.
