Livestock farmers directed to ear tag their animals

KOHIMA, MAY 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Livestock Development Board has informed all livestock farmers (cattle & buffalo) that it is mandatory to ear-tag and register all the breedable animals with a UID (Unique Identification) for uploading in the Information Network on Animal Productivity and Health (INAPH) portal.
A notification from the board said that animals without ear-tags will not be eligible for any benefits extended towards Artificial Insemination (AI), vaccination, deworming, insurance etc, as per the guidelines under National Animal Disease Control Program (NADCP).
