Livingstone Foundation Int’l College introduces NSS

Participants during the introduction of Livingstone Foundation International College introduced NSS (National Service Scheme) on February 15.

Dimapur, February 15 (MExN): Livingstone Foundation International College introduced NSS (National Service Scheme) on Tuesday through Zeneikho-o Pfukha, state NSS officer, NSS Cell, Department of Youth Resource and Sport, Nagaland. 

A press release from the college stated that the state NSS officer visited the college and informed the students what NSS is, the objective, aim and benefit of taking NSS during college career. He said NSS in India was started in 1969, this public service program is sponsored by the Government of India and is conducted by Department of Youth Affairs and Sports. It is a voluntary program in which young people from colleges, universities and also +2 level work towards creating a campus-community linkage.

The release stated that the aim behind the programme of NSS is to provide help to everyone who needs it, to enhance and bring a better change in the standard of living and the way they lead their life with dignity. He encouraged the students to take NSS which is beneficial to both students as well as the society in various different means. It helps the student to grow individually and also as a group. It makes the students confident, develop leadership skills, and gain knowledge about different people from different walks of life. 

Students also learn other skills that help them lead a better life in various situations. It teaches you to be disciplined and organized with the objectives you set for yourself and your goals. The programme was attended by all the students, it stated.
