A weekend of wining and dining on-again, off-again love Liz Hurley in LA has done the trick for Shane Warne. The British starlet is reportedly getting set to call Warnie’s $10 million Melbourne mansion home – and there may even be wedding bells according to Woman’s Day.
The unlikely couple was caught by the paparazzi over the weekend enjoying romantic dinners and lunches in California where Hurley is based while she films a role in the new small-screen Wonder Woman series. It’s the first clue that things might be back on track for ‘Shurley’ after a bumpy few months.
First, reports surfaced in December that the cricketer had bombarding married mother Adele Angeleri with text messages while wooing Hurley. Then, the Austin Powers actress abruptly shortened a holiday in Melbourne when reports surfaced Warne had been romancing porn star Chloe Conrad at the same time as he had been wooing her.
Hurley’s departure came only one day before her 8-year-old son Damian was due to arrive Down Under and enrol in a nearby school. “I have never seen him so besotted with a woman as he is with Liz. All those reports of them looking at schools for Damian were true. They were planning to make a life together and Liz was prepared for that to be in Australia – that’s how serious she was about Shane,” one of Warne’s pals told Woman’s Day.
The couple’s break hit the former spin king hard the friend said. “Shane was beside himself when Liz left. I have never seen him so down. He bombarded her with calls and flowers and was literally begging her to give him another chance.”
Despite their ups and downs, the media darlings might be getting set to say their ‘I Do’s’ this year according to Warne’s friend. “I think that if he doesn’t stuff it up this time, there’ll be a wedding before the end of the year,” the friend said.
