Dimapur, September 6 (MExN): The Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) Nagaland has expressed sorrow over the tragic landslide that occurred on September 3 at Pherima along National Highway 29, which claimed six lives and injured several others. The landslide also caused significant damage to property in the area.
In a statement, S. Richard Humtsoe, state president of LJP (RV) Nagaland, extended his deepest sympathies to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery for those injured in the disaster.
Humtsoe also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for visiting the site on September 5, 2024, and for his commitment to restoring normalcy at the earliest. He praised the efforts of frontline departments and local villagers from Pherima for their timely intervention in retrieving bodies and clearing debris from the affected area.
The LJP (RV) Nagaland president further urged the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to implement stringent measures and rectify issues to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
