LJP (RV), NPP Nagaland extend support to PDA Govt

Kohima, October 21 (MExN): The State units of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) as well as the National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland extended their support to the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) Government led by Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio.

The duo also hailed the recent merger of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) with the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP).

In a press statement, the LJP (RV) Nagaland State Unit, along with Dr Sukhato A. Sema, MLA & Leader of the Party, and Naiba Konyak, MLA & Chief Whip, felicitated the “historic merger” of the NDPP and NPF and termed it as a unification marking a significant step toward political stability, unity, and progress in the State.

“The merger will strengthen the collective resolve of all like-minded parties and leaders who share the vision of lasting peace, inclusive growth, and prosperity for the Naga people,” it stated, extending wholehearted support and endorsement of CM Rio’s leadership as well as the newly unified political entity.

The party also affirmed its commitment to work hand in hand with the government for the welfare, development, and unity of the people, and to strengthen the collective leadership to resolve long-pending Naga political issues with all like-minded people of Nagaland.

The LJP (RV) Nagaland stands united in its unwavering support and cooperation towards ensuring that the vision of peace, progress, and good governance continues to flourish under the leadership of CM Rio, it added.

Meanwhile, the NPP Nagaland has also formally conveyed its “full and unconditional support” to the PDA Government, acknowledging the NDPP–NPF merger as a momentous development that strengthens regional unity and political stability in the State.

In a statement issued by A. Neymia Konyak, State President & MLA, and the rank and file of the NPP, the party noted that the PDA Government in Nagaland, a constituent of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre, represents a collective and cooperative political approach, bridging both regional and national aspirations under a shared vision of peace and development.

In the larger interest of peace, unity, and an early and honourable political solution, the NPP stands firmly with the government under the leadership of CM Rio, it said. “This collective spirit of cooperation sends a clear and positive message to all sections of the people in Nagaland and to the Government of India — that Nagaland’s political leadership is united in its desire for lasting peace and a negotiated settlement to the Naga political issue.”

The NPP also reiterated that the decision to join the ‘Opposition-less Government’ was taken in good faith to further the cause of peace, reconciliation, and good governance, and to demonstrate political maturity and solidarity among all stakeholders.

Further, the NPP reaffirmed its commitment to the shared vision of transparency, inclusiveness, and accountability in governance.

The party also appealed to all right-thinking citizens, tribal bodies, church leaders, and civil society organizations to continue supporting the collective journey towards peace, progress, and solution.
It also expressed hope that Nagaland will move “closer towards lasting peace, accelerated development, and a stronger regional identity within the Indian Union” under the continued guidance and leadership of CM Rio.
