
MOKOKCHUNG, MARCH 23 (MExN): The Langpangkong Kaketshir Mungdang (LKM) will launch ‘Survival Mokokchung,’ a verification drive for non-local residents, on March 25 and 26 in Tuli and Tzudikong, the organization announced.
The initiative, undertaken under the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) and initiated by LKM, aims to verify the documents of non-local residents in Tuli, Tzudikong, and surrounding villages.
Verification will take place at the Forest and Raw Material Contractor Association Hall in Tuli on March 25 and at Menji Ki (Waiting Shed) in Tzudikong on March 26, starting at 9 a.m.
Non-local residents must present a voter ID card, a residential certificate or permanent residential certificate (PRC) issued by their home state, a land patta, an e-roll signed by the district magistrate and election officer, or a PRC issued before March 24, 1971, the central government’s cut-off year for identifying illegal immigrants. Residents of Assam must also provide their National Register of Citizens (NRC) documents.
Additionally, non-local residents must obtain a temporary residential certificate from the local authority and maintain a local guarantor. LKM urged all concerned individuals to cooperate and participate in the verification process.
