LLIN distributed across different districts

Dimapur, March 12 (MExN): Distribution of Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLIN) under National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Department of Health and Family Welfare, was carried out across Nagaland.

  In Wokha district, LLINs have been distributed in selected villages after the official launching of the distribution by Deputy Commissioner, Wokha. In collaboration with the concerned village authority and NGOs, the NVBDCP staffs of Wokha along with the ASHAs carried out the free LLINs distribution along with Do’s & Don’ts pamphlets. Dr. Zuben Kikon, DVBO, Wokha further informed that the nets are yet to be distributed in some blocks, but the tentative dates shall be informed very soon to the village authority concerned after completing the formalities.

In Tuli subdivision under Mokokchung district, the distribution of LLIN was officially launched by Sentiwapang Aier , ADC Tuli at Tuliyong Ward on March 9. The programme was attended by Church leaders, GBs. Ward Committee Members, ASHAs and other officials from NVBDCP, a press note informed.  

In Changtongya, the official launching programme for LLIN was held on March 10 at the Community Health Centre, Changtongya with SDO (C), Chumlamo Humtsoe as the chief guest. The SDO (C) in his speech thanked the Government for taking such an initiative and urged the people not to misuse the aid of government.  

In Kigwema village under Kohima district, LLIN distribution was carried out at the village Panchayat Hall on March 9. Dr. Bendangsenla Ao, DMO Kohima District NVBDCP distributed 2 sets of LLINs to each household of the village.  

At Suhoi village under Dimapur district, the LLIN launch was conducted in collaboration with ASHA workers of the village on March 6. President of Dimapur District GBs’ Association, Tokuho Suhoi Neho distributed a total of 190 nets to the beneficiaries at a formal function, which was attended by village elders, church and students’ leaders besides beneficiaries.
