Authorities and councils cautioned not to go for any collection from public
Dimapur, February 18 (MExN): The public has been informed that the Government of India has issued LLIN (Long Lasting Insecticidal Net) for the State of Nagaland. This LLIN is being distributed free of cost to the public through National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Health & Family Welfare Department, Nagaland.
The distribution is according to number of malaria cases reported from a specific locality throughout the year. Therefore, the distribution is not cent per cent coverage of the population, only those areas which fulfill the criteria i.e. API-1 and above will be entitled to receive the LLINs.
The LLIN is issued free of cost by the Department, therefore, the community should also come forward and help in reaching the nets to the needy people without realizing any charge from the public. It is being learnt that the public are being charge some amount for the nets, therefore, the responsible authority/councils of wards and villages are requested not to go for any collection from the public in this regard and the nets are distributed as per the Guidelines instructed to the ASHAs.
