LLIN distribution launched at Hankvu Village

Wokha, February 24 (MExN): The formal launching programme of LLIN (Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets) distribution was held at Hankvu Village under Wozhuro and Ralan on February 19. The programme was chaired by Dr. Enrithung Lotha, Chief Medical Officer, Wokha.

The chief guest, A Robin Lotha, Deputy Commissioner, Wokha and Chairman of District Health Society in his speech highlighted about proper usage of the LLIN and encouraged active participation in all health activities and other developmental activities. In the keynote address, Dr Zuben Kikon, DVBO highlighted the importance and concept of free LLIN distributions and its advantage in prevention and control of Mosquito Borne Diseases.  

The other officials who attended the programme and shared their thoughts and views were Chumren, SP Wokha, KC Murry, Controller of Examinations Global Open University, Dr. Zumomo Ovung, Honorary Secretary IRCS and Yilobemo, Office Assistance Wokha Unit. The medical officers from various Primary Health Center who attended the programme were Dr Tsanglao MO, PHC Wozhuro, Dr Aben Murry, PHC Humtso, Dr Khyothungo MO, PHC Niryo, Dr Kezo, MO School Health, Dr Mhonchan ZLO and Dr Oren, Dentist.  

The official declaration of LLIN distributions was made by the chief guest and the vote of thanks was pronounced by Renjamo SW. The programme was followed by free distributions of LLIN and Do’s and Don’ts pamphlets pertaining to the usage of LLIN was distribute by the team of NVBDCP staff Zuchamo MTS, Chophao SW, Renjamo SW along with concerned ASHA of the village and the Chairman of the village council.  

Altogether two villages Hanku and N Longchum were covered and total number of 482 different sizes of LLIN was provided to them and ASHA were instructed to carry out for monitoring post LLIN distributions and encourage using the medicated nets.
