ZUNHEBOTO, DECEMBER 19 (MExN): The 3rd Trojans Open T20 Cricket tournament culminated at local ground, Zunheboto on December 19. The tournament, which began on THE 8th of this month, was organised by the Trojans’ Club. Former Zunheboto town council member, Class (I) contractor, Ghovishe Kiba, graced the closing programme as the Guest of Honour.
The finalists of the tournament were Lizu Naghuto Sporting Association (LNSA) and Astra Barry’s Club. LNSA emerged victorious after successfully overhauling a target of 130 with a loss of seven in 19.4.
Vinato Kiba of LNSA was adjudged the man of the final match, the highest wicket taker award was claimed by Hika Zhimo with 15 wickets hauls and man of the series was bagged by Nikato Zhimo, best wicket keeper was given away to Viketo Zhimo of Wicket Wizards club and the prestigious best disciplined team went to Royal Strikers Cricket Club (Alahuto).
The champions LNSA went richer with Rs 60000 and a running trophy along with certificates and Runners’ up, Astra Barry’s was awarded Rs 30000 with certificates.
Earlier the tournament began with 9 teams vying for the coveted title of ‘Knights of the Trojans’ Cup 2022’. The Trojans Club has meanwhile thanked all the participating cricket clubs from the district and afar and also to all the donors/sponsors and well wishers.
