LNW re-endorses Naga framework agreement

Dimapur, February 15 (MExN): The Lotha National Workers (LNW) NSCN (IM) has “re-endorsed and re-affirmed the framework agreement signed between the GOI and the NSCN (IM) on August 3, 2015, which must lead to an acceptable and honorable settlement of the Indo-Naga political issue.”


This was resolved during its 3rd general meeting at the Region headquarters on February 11. The meeting deliberated on the scenario of the Indo-Naga political talks which is nearing conclusion for signing a political agreement.


Chichamo Lotha, Caretaker/CAO, Lotha Region NSCN (IM) in a press release said the meeting resolved to “reiterate and stand by the Collective Leadership and Joint Council decision to stand firm and uphold the spirit of the Framework Agreement.”


“If the Naga political settlement is outside the purview of the agreed framework agreement, the LNW resolved to stand tall with the Collective Leadership and members of the collective Leader and Joint Council decision in letter and spirit come what may,” the release said.


Meanwhile, the LNW also acknowledged every individual, Church, forum, National workers and civil societies across and beyond Nagalim “who have supported and declared their unflinching support on the Naga cause through media outlet.”


It has also appealed to everyone to “continue upholding both the negotiating parties in their prayers so that the 23 years of Indo-Naga peace talk is gracefully concluded.”


The meeting was held in the presence of RT Tsanglao, Member of Collective Leadership and M Daniel Lotha, Cabinet Secretary to the NSCN (IM).
