
Dimapur, April 3 (MExN): The Dimapur Electrical Circle, Superintending Engineer (Electrical) today informed that the department is compelled to intensify load shedding. The new load shedding schedule for Dimapur Local Centre, which came into effect from April 2 is as follows: 0.00 Hours to 17.00 Hours – “2 hours on followed by 2 hours off,” whereas from 17.00 Hours to 24.00 Hours, the load shedding will be “1 hour on followed by 1 hour off.” The Dimapur Electrical Circle, Superintending Engineer (Electrical) G Chishi in a press release stated that load shedding is being imposed due to the low water level in hydro generation stations resulting in acute shortage of power in the NE region including Nagaland. “Availability is hardly between 35% to 45% compared to our local requirement,” he stated. The Engineer has requested all concerned to bear with the inconvenience, which he stated “is inevitable.”
