CMO Dimapur conducts first aid prog
Dimapur, June 9 (MExN): The office of the Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur conducted an “Awareness Programme on first aid” with Dr. Watizulu Jamir and Dr. Kavito Zhimomi at Dimapur Depot, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Signal Basti on June 2. The program mainly stressed on how to respond to emergencies at the work place before professional medical help is given. All the officers and staff of Dimapur Depot successfully attended the programme.
Naga Council informs on mass social work
DIMAPUR, JUNE 9 (MExN): In view of the mass social work at the Old Naga Cemetery on June 13 (Monday) at 7:00 am initiated by the Baptist Pastors’ Fellowship Dimapur in collaboration with Naga Council, it is herewith notified to all affiliated Tribal Hohos and their respective members, Women Hoho, DNSU and general public to please render cooperation for the same. Refreshments shall be served by Naga Council. All tribal Councilors and Tribe Presidents, DNWH, DNSU & colleagues are requested to inform maximum members to join the social work in the interest of all, informed a press note from Savi Liegise and Ntsemo Ngullie President and General Secretary of the Naga Council.
NCWA condemns
Dimapur, June 9 (MExN): The Nagaland Catholic Women Association (NCWA) has expressed deep shock and pain at the burning down of the Catholic Church at Phokhungri village under Meluri sub-division, Phek District by some vested persons. Neilakhonuo Mary, general secretary of NCWA in a press release stated that it was a complete violation of the Fundamental Rights laid down by the Constitution of our country and hampers peaceful living and co-ordination of our people. The NCWA strongly condemned the act of vandalism and also further appealed to the concern authority to settle the dispute at the earliest and to bring peace and harmony among all sections of religions in the village.
THN endorses Watsu Mungdang
Dimapur, June 9 (MExN): The Tangkhul Hoho Nagaland fully endorse to the demand of the public rally held at Kohima on June 1, 2011 under the aegis of Watsu Mungdang Kohima, to arrest the culprits in the murder attempt of Imtila Jamir, (Retd) Registrar, Cooperative Society, Nagaland on May 27, 2011 reportedly committed by one Worshim, stated to be from Tangkhul community along with his other accomplices. THN President, NA Kasar and THN General secretary, N Jagoi in a joint statement appeal to the concerned authorities to be very transparent in dealing with this issue and ensure the arrest the culprits at the earliest irrespective of who belong to which tribe/community and take the required punitive action so as to take the message home and to avoid further recurrence.
AYO meeting on June 11
Dimapur, June 9 (MExN): The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has taken the year 2011 as the ‘Year of Social Awareness’ and in view of this a meeting of the AYO office bearers has been convened on June 11 at 10 AM in the Office of the AYO, APO Building, Kohima. Activities for the year 2011-2012 will be deliberated in the meeting. Therefore, all the office bearers are requested to attend the meeting positively and present their proposals in the meeting.
