Gov to grace seminar on women issue

Kohima, July 20 (DIPR):
A one-day State Level Seminar on ‘Atrocities against Women’ with special emphasis on ‘Constitutional Rights of Women, Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, Role of Police in Safeguarding Women’s Right and Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act’ will be held on July 29 at the Heritage (Old DC Bungalow) from 8:30 a.m onwards.
Nagaland Governor, Nikhil Kumar will grace the programme as the chief guest and Additional Chief Secretary & Commissioner Nagaland, Banuo Z. Jamir as guest of honour. The following delegates are invited to attend the programme: All Tribal Women Organisation/Hoho/Association; All Tribal Hoho/Organisation; District GB Association; All Nagaland GB Federation (HQ); All Nagaland DB Association; Naga Students Federation; Naga Mothers Association; NPMHR; NBCC; NCRC; Catholic Association; AG; Pentecostal; Nagaland Nurse Association; Nagaland Bar Association and All Heads of Departments.

Tsupfume VV provide cabbage to patients

Kohima, July 20 (MExN):
In a benevolent gesture, the Tsupfume Vegetable Village (TVV) under Phek district has provided 1000 kgs of cabbage at free of cost to patients of Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima on July 19. Speaking to The Morung Express, Khazi Leah said the village having a surplus production this year has decided to provide such vegetable to Naga Hospital to show it concern and love to the patients admitted there. The TSU also provided a good quantity of cabbage to Kohima Destitute & Orphanage Home on the same day.

Mokokchung DWO informs

Mokokchung, July 20 (DIPR): 
The District Welfare Officer, T. Imkong Longkumer has informed all concerned that the department is going to include 10 (Ten) more disabled beneficiaries in the ongoing Disable Pension Scheme (under State Scheme). Disable person between the age group of 10yrs to 60yrs having medical certificate, may collect application forms from the District Welfare Office on or before August 10.

AYO meeting with tenants

Kohima, July 20 (MExN):
The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) will have a meeting with the tenants of the AYO Market, Kohima on July 23 at 9:00 am in the AYO Office, APO Building, Kohima. Therefore all the tenants are requested to attend the meeting positively. AYO President Khrielievi Chüsi informed in a press release that the meeting of the AYO Office bearers will be held on the same day after the meeting with the tenants.

AKM extends cooperation to police force

Mokokchung, July 20 (MExN):
The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) today in a press note stated that it is ready to co-operate with the police force in checking any illegal activities and maintaining law in order around the town area in whichever deem fit. AKM also commended the SP, Mokokchung and all the rank and files of the Mokokchung Police force for pepping up the security around Mokokchung Town, which help reduce the anti-social elements, also the Traffic Police for active in their duty checking the helmet and thereby making aware of the importance of its utility to citizens especially the driver of two wheelers.

NLMA Regional Consultative meeting

Kohima, July 20 (MExN):
The Regional Consultative meeting of the National Literacy Mission Authority (NLMA) will be held on July 22 and 23 at Hotel Japfü, Kohima. The inaugural programme on July 22 will be chaired by Chief Secretary, Lalthara IAS while Commissioner & Secretary, School Education, T. Imkonglemba IAS will deliver the welcome address. Joint Secretary, Ministry of HRD & Director General NLMA Jagmohon Singh Raju will present the keynote address. Participants from all States of Eastern Region including Jharkand, Bihar, Odissa and West Bengal and officials from the Ministry of Human Resource Development shall be attending the meeting. There will be a press conference with Director General, Saakshar Bharat (Adult Education) Ministry of Human Resource Development at 12:30 p.m. on July 22. There will also be a meeting with SLMA officers including Ministers etc at 2:20 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Rotary Dmr conducts awareness prog

Dimapur, July 20 (MExN):
Rotary Club of Dimapur conducted an awareness programme and Free Dental Check-up Camp for the children of St. Joseph Orphanage Home on July 17 under the supervision of Dr. James, BDS, Civil Hospital, Dimapur. Altogether 40 children of the home were examined and free medicines along with tooth brush were distributed. On this occasion the members of the club also launched Project Aahar under Poverty Alleviation program. Under this program club handed over eatables like rice, dal, spices and vegetable for the children of the home. The club also handed over a scholarship under the project “Adopt A Child” to Miss Juicy Gongmai, stated a press note.

NSF informs passed out students of JEE 2011

Dimapur, July 20 (MExN):
The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) once again reminds all the bonafide Naga Students’ who have passed out from JEE 2011 with different discipline to produce their academic documents and other relevant documents to proof their indigenous as Nagas to NSF office on or before July 30 in case of any discrepancies found in the documents the federation will not accept/acknowledge under any circumstances. This was informed in a press release issued by NSF, Secretary Education, Chipakhuyi Rhakho.

Meeting held for I-Day celebration at Phek

Phek, July 20 (DIPR):
  In preparation for the forthcoming Independence Day celebration to be held at Phek on August 15, a meeting was held at Phek DPDB conference hall and chalk out various assignment and programme. Phek Deputy Commissioner, Mikha Lomi chaired the meeting and was attended by all Head of Offices, Administrative Officers, 7A/R, Phek DEF, 5th NAP, Principals and Head Masters from all Schools and Colleges. The meeting deliberated at length for active participation from all walks of life and chalked out the programme and given task to all the concerned for participation accordingly. Unlike previous year, this year all the different departments of Phek HQ were given various assignments for work to be carried out for success of the programme. The meeting decided to have a mass social on August 5, 2011 at 6.30 a.m. onward. The meeting ended with a word of thanks from the chair.
