NAF affirms support for reconciliation
Dimapur, March 24 (MExN): The Naga American Foundation (NAF) affirms their support of the reconciliation process that is ongoing in Nagaland, through the leadership of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR). A press note issued by Wilson Angumei, President, Naga American Foundation (NAF) stated, “Although, not physically present back home, we continue to have the best interests of the Nagas at heart, believing that peace and reconciliation must be foremost, and that violence, hatred and division is never the answer. Accordingly, in the spirit of reconciliation, we ask that the various political organizations involved put their differences aside and come together for the sake of the Naga people.”
DDK to telecast Quiz competition
Kohima, March 24 (MExN): Directorate of State Institute of Rural Development informs the project Directors, BDOs, village councils and VDBs that Doordarshan Kendra Kohima will telecast concluded State level Quiz Competition Programme on March 28, at 6.00 pm onwards which was organized by SIRD, Nagaland Kohima in collaboration with Doordarshan Kendra Kohima. A press note issued by Director, Limasenla Jamir, stated that basically, the programme aims of creating awareness of RD Schemes/programmes for village Development functionaries and requested to all the stakeholders to view the said programme for feedback.
SBI informs
Dimapur, March 24 (DIPR): The State Bank of India (SBI) has informed that Financial Year closing transaction and payment of Government Bill and cheque on March 31, 2011 will be received upto 7:00 p.m. only in the Branches. All concern AHoDs/HoDs and DDOs are advised to issue timely presentation of bills for payment to the Bank to avoid complains of Non-Payment. This was issued by Additional Chief Secretary & Finance Commissioner, Toshi Aier.
CSU 2nd council meet on Mar 27
Kohima, March 24 (MExN): All the members of the council of executive of Chiechama Students’ Union have been informed that the second council meeting will be held on March 27 at 1:00 pm at CSU office. All the concerned members have been requested to attend the said meeting without fail.
YBCK women deptt workshop
Kohima, March 24 (MExN): The Yimchungrü Baptist Church Kohima women department is organizing workshop programme from March 25 to 27, 2011 at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama under the theme “Understanding women.” All the members have been requested to attend the said workshop.
DMC to check Trade License
Dimapur, March 24 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) stated that inspite of repeated notices & directives, it has been observed that many shopkeepers and business establishment have been running their shop/business establishment either without obtaining DMC Trade License or non-renewing the license for the year 2011. As such, with a view to check such irregularities, the DMC shall conduct special checking in all 23 wards from April 1, 2011. A press note issued by Nikhashe Sema, chief executive officer, DMC informed that during the checking hours, any business establishment & shopkeepers found running shop without Trade License or non-renewing the license shall be penalized with spot fine of Rs. 500.
