PPVC elects new council members
Dimapur, March 26 (MExN): The Padum Pukhuri Village Council (PPVC) has elected its new council of members on March 26, 2011. A press note issued by the Council informed that Vitoka Katty, elected was Council Chairman and Sanjay Kachari as council secretary for the term period of five years that is from 2011 to 2016. The Council Chairman also thanked all the Council members, GBs and public in general for their unending support and wished the same in the near future to come.

Dimapur, March 26 (MExN): The Phek District Veteran Football Association (PDVFA) held an emergency meeting on March 20, 2011 at the residence Vechipa Vese and the following office bearers were elected for the year 2011-12: president: Kupota Khesoh, vice president: Mudozo S. Keyho, general secretary: Razuseyi Sakha. A press note issued by PDVFA president also mentioned that handing over and taking over cum picnic of the PDVFA members on April 30, 2011.

Dimapur, March 26 (MExN): Students who appeared in the NU Examination 2011 are informed to submit their Hall Tickets, if there is any mistake for necessary corrections and the students who applied for Scholarship during 2010-11 are also informed to submit their Bank Accounts if they have not submitted. In both the cases, last date for submission is to the office of the principal, Immanuel College, April 8, 2011.
SAGSA Volleyball & badminton tourney
Dimapur, March 26 (MExN): The Sumi Aphuyemi Games and Sports Association (SAGSA) is organizing a Volley Ball Tournament and Badminton Championship for both men and women, and Musical Nite at Pughoboto from March 31 to April 5, 2011. A press note issued by Hokiqhe president SAGSA informed that the musical nite will feature Bokato Kiho, the winner of ‘Nagas Got Talent’ besides other prominent musicians from Pughoboto area. The occasion will be graced by Kasho Chishi, Executive Engineer, Department of Power, as the chief guest. GPAU (MOP) emergency meet
Dimapur, March 26 (MExN): The Government Polytechnic Alumni Union (MOP) will hold an emergency general meeting on March 27 (Sunday) at 1:00 pm at the residence of its treasurer, Aren at Midland, Kohima. In a press note, the president and general secretary have asked all the members to positively attend the meeting. The note also mentioned that the meeting will discuss and finalize on urgent issues. It has further informed that absentees will be imposed with a fine of Rs 200.
Convocation programme for vocational trainees
Dimapur, March 26 (MExN): The Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSWB) along with Entrepreneur Development and Integrated Training Institute (EDITI) is going to conduct convocation programme for the vocational trainees on March 29, 2011 at 10:00 am at NVHA building, EDITI, 2nd floor, near bethel medical centre Kohima. M.Rhakila Lakiumong, chairperson Nagaland state NSWB will hand out certificates and awards to the successful candidates. VAB counselor, R. Juliana Sorhie in a press note said NSWB sponsors girls to take up vocational training in various fields helping them become self reliant where on completion of the courses they are honored with certificates.

Tsuyimla, principle declared the graduation theme as “A year of Harvest”, so basing on this theme, guest speaker L. Ongmang, executive secretary spoke on the theme and challenged the students. More than 200 people attended the convocation.

Dimapur, March 26 (MExN): The Satoi Range Students’ Union (SRSU) expresses dismay about the poor supply of power in the area and appeals to the responsible authority to seriously address the grievances of the people, as the deserving consumer are irately experiencing lots of hardship due to complete blackout and absence of electricity. The press note issued by Vika Ayemi, SRSU president said that it is also learnt that there has lots of hardship due to complete blackout and absence of electricity. It is also learnt that there has lone untrained employee at Satoi town Hq. and have experienced power irregularities in the past days and years. Therefore, the union urges the department to deploy trained employee at Satoi town which could enable the department to oversee the surrounding villages of Satoi town. The union further informed in the note that it has repeatedly reminded the concerned department about power situation in the past days, but the responsible authority turned a deaf ear. Therefore, if the responsible department fails to be aware on the gravity of our demand and act impartially, the union warns of any unwanted eventuality which the responsible department would be held responsible.
