NGRCICU appoints action committee

Kohima, March 27 (MExN):
The Nagaland Government Regd. Class I Contractors Union has appointed the action committee with Zasebeizolie as convenor as Rokosalie as secretary. Other members includes; Myingthungo (joint secretary), Vilelie Khamo, Tarep Jamir, Tongpang, Phongshi Phom, Akhie Liezietsu and Thepfusatuo Rio.

Aoleang festival from April 4 to 6

Kohima, March 27 (MExN):
The Chenloisho Students’ Union informed that the programme for Aoleang festival cum 21st session of games & sports have been scheduled for April 4 to 6. In this connection, all the members and the concerned people have been requested to reach the village on or before April 1 without fail.

Yano clan to meet on April 2

Kohima, March 27 (MExN):
The Yano Clan will hold a meeting on April 2, 10:30 am at Kigwema village. All the Yano clans have been requested to attend the meeting without fail. This was stated in a release issued by clan chairman Dielhomo and secretary Neisielhou.

SSU mourns ex-minister’s demise

Kohima, March 27 (MExN):
The Surumi Students Union expressed shock over the demise of K. Khukivi Awomi, former president SSU for 1972-1973 who passed away on Match 21. The union said that late Khukivi was a pioneer who stood for the upliftment of the union. His death was a great loss for Sumi tribe as well as the students’ body. The Union also conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for peace of the departed soul. This was stated in a release issued by the union’s general secretary Puloto Aye.

Kin meeting postponed to April 9

Dimapur, March 27 (MExN):
The proposed meeting of the Kuki Inpi (Hoho) Nagaland (KIN) to be held on March 30  has been postponed to April 9, due to some unavoidable circumstances. However, the time and place for the meeting will remain the same as notified earlier. A press note issued by Richard Haolai, secretary information & publicity, KIN requested all the Kuki GBs, Kuki government officials, KMA, KSO, and staff of the KIN to bear with the inconvenience, and at the same time to attend the meeting without fail.

DGP to inaugurate Porütso Kethüki

Kohima, March 27 (MExN):
The Porütso Kethüki will be inaugurated by K. Kire, IPS, Director General of Police, Nagaland on April 9 at 10:00 am at Jakhama village. Vipose Zao, IPS, Rtd, DIG Nagaland will inaugurate Porütso Tsüphwe (Dahu) on the same day. Kaisa Rio, wife of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will release the souvenir as special invite during the main function.
Kezhokhoto Savi stated that way back on the year 1940 the Porütso Kethüki was the first CGI building in the village. In the early parts of 1944 the language and songs of Japan was first taught to the villagers by the Japanese in this Kethüki (Dormitory). Porütsomi of Jakhama village cordially invites all its sisters and families who married to other Khels, villagers and communities to join the programme where the eldest man amongst Porütsomi will invoke God blessing upon them in Naga traditional way.
