ZPO emergency meeting

Kohima, March 30 (MExN):
An emergency executive meeting of the Zeliang People Organization (ZPO) will be held on April 9 at 11:00 am at the residence of Haisuipeung Iheilung, Deputy Speaker, ZPO at Jalukie town. Special invitees to the meeting include; chairman & head GB Old Nkio village, chairman & head GB Old Peren village, chairman & head GB Old Jalukie village, chairman & head GB Old Beisumpui village, chairman & head GB Lamhai-Dungki village, chairman Zeme Council, chairman Liangmai Council, representative from Zeliang Officers Association and Zeliang Students’ Union. ZPO has informed that no separate information will be dispatched. All concerned are requested to attend the meeting without fail.

DCC Kohima vigilance committee formed

Dimapur, March 30 (MExN):
The District Congress Committee, Kohima, at a meeting held on March 29 has constituted a vigilance committee at the district level and constituency level to monitor the ongoing central schemes in the state. DCC president Prasielie Pienyu in a press release informed that the meeting also deliberated on important issues. The meeting was attended by all DCC office bearers, ACCC president and frontal chief. DCC further acknowledged Sonia Gandhi for appointing Luizinho Felerio, CWC permanent invitee as in-charge of Nagaland and SC Jamir as a permanent invitee to the CWC.

MMC fix vegetable rates

Mokokchung, March 30 (DIPR):
Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) has fixed the rate of Potato and Tomato at Rs. 15 per KG and Rs. 20 per KG respectively. The revision of rate against the two items has been made in view of the present market rates in other towns and cities. The order to this effect was issued by ADC & MMC Administrator, R. Asenla Kietzar.

Disaster management training in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, March 30 (DIPR):
Training on search & rescue in the events of natural disaster and outbreak of fire was imparted to the students of Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School (MGHSS) the Home Guard and Civil Defence, Mokokchung. SDO (C) Mokokchung, Nungsangmenla Imchen graced the occasion as the chief guest. Imchen said that it is beyond human ability to control the fury of natural disaster, yet with better awareness and timely intervention lives can be saved in times of disaster. She urged students to take the opportunity of learning the basic methods of first -aid and search & rescue operation, so that every individual would be able to render their services in times of disaster. The training included the use of different kinds of fire extinguishers, emergency methods of search & rescue and first -aid to casualties during disaster. The training was imparted under the supervision of Deputy Controller Civil Defence & District Commandant Home Guards, Mokokchung, Watilemba.
 
State level workshop on PMEGP

A one day State level workshop, Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) was organized by the Department of industries and Commerce at the State Academy Hall. Mhathung Kithan, Commissioner & Secretary, Industries & Commerce attended the workshop as the chief guest.
Lauding the department for conducting the workshop, Kithan said that one should be sincere and dedicated and that one should give priority to becoming responsible. Kithan lamented on the attitude of Naga people for not refunding loans received from banks for setting up institutions and urged the entrepreneurs not to misuse the loans. “Banks will go on even if we do not pay. It will only create obligation to the future generation,” he said. He also urged the participants to use the money/loan diligently, adding that their achievement was not only for one’s own self or family but for the progress of the society as a whole.
Kithan further said that he was the heading a department like Industries, when in actual there are no industries, but added said he will render his the best service for overall development of the state. He further encouraged the gatherings to create successful stories in the department. Bank officials also attended the one day workshop.

ZSUN supports total ban on hunting 

Dimapur, March 30 (MExN):
Stating that it supports the order of total ban on hunting within the jurisdiction of Peren district issued by the Deputy Commissioner, the Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) president Penam and general secretary Pausuigumbe Lungalang, in a press release has directed its respective units to check and ensure hunting is prohibited in their respective jurisdiction, and to seize the arms and report to the concerned authority if found hunting. ZSUN further stated with regard to the sale of land to non-Zeliangrong, it shall stick to its resolution adopted at the last Presidential Council that no land should be sold to non-Zeliangrong. If anyone is found doing so from the date of this notice issued, the document of the buyer and seller shall be counted as null and void, ZNSU stated.  ZSUN has also appealed the NTTU (Peren district) to stop plying on the road with timber/log from May 1, 2011 till further notice, as it is damaging the newly constructed road under Peren district.
