ASU’s 24th biennial conference

Kohima, March 31 (MExN):
The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) will be holding its 24th Biennial General Conference from April 8 to 18 at Sovima village with the theme “Re-orienting priorities”. The event is designated as one of the prime event of the Angami students’ community wherein thousands of delegates from all ranges of the Angami region are expected to take part.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will grace the inaugural session as the chief guest. Resources persons and speakers of the conference includes Savi Leigiese, president Dimapur Naga Council Kesonyu Yhome, SDO © Mokokchung, social scientist, Dr. Kiyakhrie IFS and Vicavor Krose, director, youth department. The organizing committee and the ASU appealed to all the various frontal organizations of the Angami community, village leaders, well wishers and the Angami community in general to come and be part of eventful students’ conference.

UST conference from May 20
 
Dimapur, March 31 (MExN):
The 27th United Sangtam Theological Conference will be held at Kisetong Baptist Church from May 20 to 22. Rev. C. Lima E.S USBLA Yangli, Rev. T. Tsangkhuchu, Dmr, Mr. Lanu Rudy NMM, Alison Bangalore will speak during the conference and C. Kipili Sangtam MLA & Chairman NSMDC, Kohima: Nagaland will be the guest of honour. Therefore, all the USTC members those who are studying in difference Bible colleges within Nagaland or outside of the state have requested to attend the conference without fail. Beside the president, request all the churches under the USBLA to prepare and encourage attending the conference. R. Tohanba to grace IGNOU Convocation

Dimapur, March 31 (DIPR):
The 22nd Convocation of IGNOU will be held on April 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. The main function will be held at IGNOU Campus Maidan Garhi, New Delhi with Kapil Sibal, Union Minister for HRD as the chief guest. The Convocation will be held simultaneously, through Tele Conferencing via Satellite at the Regional Centre of the University. In Nagaland the function will be held at the Nagaland College of Teacher Education, Kohima with Parliamentary for IPR, Economics & Statistics, R. Tohanba as the guest of honour who will also deliver the convocation address.

Animal Vaccination Camp held

Dimapur, March 31 (MExN):
An Animal Vaccination Camp was held on March 22, 2011 for the following villages under Niuland sub-division: Niuland town, Kuhoxu, Ghotovi, Hovishe, Hizulhe, Itovukhu, Viyite, Zuheshe, Hezheto, Henito, Itozukhe, Hakhezhe, Yevite, Hetei, Kiyezu ‘A’, and Kiyezu ‘B’. A press note issued by Dr. Atem, Deputy Director, Disease Investigation Unit, Dimapur informed that the Doctors of D.I Unit and District Veterinary Officers staff, Dimapur.

RD informs on RTI training

Dimapur, March 31 (MExN):
All the BDOs/RDOs and APOs are informed that a training on RTI Act will be held on April 7, 2011 at the RD Directorate Conference Hall at 10:30 am. In this regard, a press nnote issued by Metsubo Jamir, Director, Roral Development, Kohima stated that all the concerned Officers are requested to attend the Training positively. “Non-attendance will be seriously viewed,” further stated the note.

Book on ‘Chronical of Yepthomi clan’

Kohima, March 31 (MExN):
Consequent upon the decision to write book on “Chronical of Yepthomi clan,” the final consultative meeting of Yepthomi of Sumi, Venuh of Chakhesang, Jinguru of Sangtam, Kiphur of Yimchungru. Kaothie of Khimnungam, Khatemshi of Chang and Patton of Kyong (Lotha) is convened on April 9 at 10:00 am at Hotel Cimorb, Kohima. All the above mentioned tribes have been requested to send five delegates so also all the present legislators have been requested to attend the meeting without fail. Minister for health & family welfare, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu will host the lunch.

DCC/DLRC meet held at ZBTO

Dimapur, March 31 (DIPR):
Bank Officials and District Head of Offices along with Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, T. Kiheto Sema held the DCC/DLRC meeting at DC’s Office Chamber on March 29, 2011. The agenda items discussed in the DCC/DLRC meeting were as follows: Performance under Annual Credit Plan 2010-11, Performance of Banks under Government Sponsored Scheme, Various Credit Cards Scheme and SHGs, Review of Financial inclusion by extension of banking service providing banking service by engaging BCs in every village having a population of more than two thousand, Recovery position under Government Sponsored Scheme. The meeting also had a discussion on DLSC-Security of Banks and miscellaneous items.

Departmental meet held at Chantongya

Dimapur, March 31 (DIPR):
The monthly Departmental Co-ordination meeting of Changtongya sub-division was held at the office chamber of the SDO (C) on March 30, 2011. SDO (C) Changtongya, Chubawati Chang who chaired the meeting directed all the Head of Offices in Changtongya to keep him informed about all departmental major programmes like training/seminar or any official visit from the State level, Kohima. During the meeting, the OC, Police Station Changtongya, Among Ao suggested for control of stray dogs in the town, in connection to which the house decided to issue notification soon to the ward/colony leaders for control of the same. The house agreed upon and decided that there will be sharing of working experiences among the members from the next meeting onwards. The next coordination meeting would be held tentatively on April 27, 2001 at Changtongya town hall.
