DC & RO informs
Mokokchung, April 30 (DIPR): DC & RO Mokokchung says Electronic Voting Machine will be available for practice at the D.C’s conference hall from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on 3rd, 4th and 5th May 2011. The Sector Magistrates, Sector Commanders, Micro Observers and the Polling Officials were asked to avail the opportunity to get themselves equipped with the knowledge of use and operation of EVMs. The general voters may also avail the opportunity to get themselves familiarize with the operation of EVMs. The RO Mokokchung requested master trainers to assist the officials and the general voters during the aforesaid practice session.
Parliamentary Quiz 2011
Kohima, April 30 (MExN): The Department of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Nagaland in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education, Nagaland is organizing Youth Parliamentary Competition and Parliamentary Quiz 2011 at state level. This will be held around May 25 to 27, 2011. In this connection all the DEO’s and DIS’s are directed to conduct competitions in respective districts and select 6 (six) students from class 9 to 12 and send the report on or before May 15, to the Department of Parliamentary Affairs. During the state level competition, one teacher-in-charge may come along with the selected 6(six) students. Venue will be intimated later on. This was informed in a note issued by N. Khevito Sema, Addl. Director.
‘No plying of trucks carrying log in Chen area’
Dimapur, April 30 (MExN): The Konyak Union Unit Chen has stated that with reference to resolution No.11/2011 dated Mon the 12th April 2011, the union has totally banned plying of trucks carrying log within its jurisdiction with effect from April 13, 2011. The union in a press note issued by its president WN Wangshok and general secretary TP Pongyao stated that the resolution was initiated considering the road condition, which is the lifeline of the people of the Chen area.
The union also said in the note that the total ban order shall effect all the main roads to Chen area i.e. o to Wangti via Chenmoho and Chenloisho; Aboi to Wangti via Chingkao Chingyu and Chingkao junction to Chen town. The defaulters of the order will be considered “anti-people” and shall solely responsible of dire consequences. The union has “appealed the timber businessmen and sawmill owners not to provide any sort of dvance payment for supply of log from Chen area be it local or non-local fro the date of issue of this order”.
