EAC Chumu directs GB of Diphupar ‘B’ village
Dimapur, June 2 (MExN): A press statement received here today stated that the impasse of Diphupar ‘B’ Village, which arose over constituting a new team of village council, is finally heading towards a solution following an order passed by the administration. Extra Assistant Commissioner, Chumukedima in a letter dated 1st June 2011 directed the head GB of Diphupar ‘B’ village to immediately submit the list of new team of village for the next five years term to the office of EAC Chumukedima on or before 10th June 2011, failing which, he shall be held responsible for any adverse consequences.
Training on agricultural techniques conducted
Dimapur, June 2 (MExN): ATMA Peren district, Jalukie Block conducted a four days training cum demonstration programme on various agricultural techniques for farmers of Peren district which was held from May 23 to 26 at New Jalukie village, Nkwareu village and Saijang village under Jalukie Block. This was informed in a press release issued by ATMA Peren block technology manager Kiachang.
Identifying the peak period, needs and the choice of the farming community various topics were being disseminated on respective dates. Resource person Gabriel Gonmei of Rongmai Baptist Association Nagaland (NGO) Peren district deliberated on the topic ‘practices of system of rice intensification on paddy (TRC)’ at New Jalukie and Siajang village on May 23 and 25. Mapeuheile Ndang, Subject Matter Specialist, ATMA elaborated on ‘cultivation practices of turmeric and ginger’ at Nkwareu village and Saijang village on May 24 and 26. Limachang AFA, BTT Convenor ATMA, Jalukie Block dwelt on the topic ‘conservation measures and practices of jhum cultivation under Peren district’ on May 26 at Saijang village. Altogether 157 farmers attended the training.
FIAC at Dhansaripar block inagurated
Dimapur, May 2 (MExN): DAO & Project Director (ATMA-Dimapur), Ahovi Sema inaugurated the Farm Information and Advisoer Centre (FIAC) at Dhansaripar block on May 31. A press note informed that the Project Director, in his speech explained in detail the working principle of FIAC and activities of Farmers Friends (FF) and encouraged the farmers to take advantage of the facilities provided to them.
The programme was chaired by Hovuto, SDO (Soil) & BTT Convenor (Dhansaripar). Welcome address was given by Nichulo, EO & BTT member (Dhansaripar) while, vote of thanks was pronounced by Sentinaro Longchar, BTM (Dhansaripar). BTT members of Dhansaripar block as well as other blocks, from Agri. & allied departments attended the inaugural programme.
The inaugural programme was followed by a meeting wherein the problems, needs and expectations of the farmers of Dhansaripar block were recorded for future action. The meeting was attended by about 70 participants including ATMA officials.
