ANTA to submit memo to DC Kohima

Kohima, June 3 (MExN):
Basing on the resolution passed in its general meeting held on May 31, the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Headquarter, Kohima directed all owners and drivers of Zonal and Local Taxis within Kohima to gather at Pholbari junction on June 8 between 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM to submit memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner Kohima on the issue of private registered vehicles plying as taxis and the inaction of the Regional Transport Officer, Kohima to check such conduct. A fine of Rs. 500 will be imposed on those who fail to present that day, a release received here said today.

WSBAK combine meeting on June 4

Dimapur, June 3 (MExN):
A combined meeting of Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (WSBAK) Youth Executive, Planning Board members, Finance Committee & Convenors is scheduled on June 4, 2011. A press note isued by rev. Ikuto Jimo, youth secretary, WSBAK informed that the venue is at Phukuto Zhimomi, Planning Board Chairman residence, backside of Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School at 10:30 am. The meeting will discuss the forthcoming 27th Annual session cum Triennial conference of NBCC from October 21 to 23, 2011 hosted by WSBAK youth department. All the concern members are requested to attend the meeting without fail.

GUN appeal to plant trees

Gorkha Union Naginimora (GUN) is organizing plantation drive on June 4 at Naginimora town to commemorate world environment day. In this regard, Gorkha Union Naginimora has appealed to all the citizens of Nagaland to plant at least one tree keeping in view of the threat of global warming and making Nagaland “a better place to live.”

PDFU executive meeting on June 4

Kohima, June 3 (MExN):
The Phek District Farmers’ Union (PDFU) will hold its executive meeting -cum- opening of Phek District Farmers Union head office at Pfutsero town on June 4 at 10:00 AM. The meeting will discuss matter pertaining to general session of the PDFU 2011, Phek district socio-economic vision 2020, identification of progressive farmers project and farmers club. All the executive members, area project organizers (APO), chairman village farmer unit, advisors and special invitees have been requested to attend the said meeting positively.

TSU no to new Zeliang students’ union

Dimapur, June 3 (MExN):
Tening Students’ Union (TSU) has opposed formation of a Zeliang Students’ Union. A note from the TSU said a meeting was held May 28 to discuss the matter. The union had decided against the formation of the said union. The stated Zeliang students’ organization has been formed without any transparency and that the rangers were not informed. The TSU appeals to all organizations, and the government not to “entertain” such unions “whose aim and objective is not transparent.” The TSU expresses full support to the Zeliangrong Students’ Union (N) as the apex organization.   

Zunheboto DPDB meeting deferred

Zunheboto, June 3 (DIPR):
The monthly District Planning & Development Board meeting of Zunheboto district has been postponed to 9th June 2011. DC Zunheboto has requested all the heads of offices of the district to note the change of date and attend the meeting without fail.
