Local Entrepreneurs Association Tuensang (LEAT) held its triennial general session under the theme ‘Building lives, rebuilding society’ at Town Hall, Tuensang on November 12.

The resource persons for the sessions were Lohuo Besii, Chief Manager, State Bank of India, Tuensang and Tzükti Longkumer, MD, Longpok Holdings, Mokokchung.

Besii was elated to see the good number of local entrepreneurs turning up for the meet expressing that he did not ‘expect’ it. “As a businessman we should take calculated risks to be successful and we must have passion for our business. It should go in sync with your business and activity,” he said.

He also mentioned that many entrepreneurs have chosen this path after many fail attempts at exams and their dreams and are stuck at business as last option. “Therefore, we must look at business as our mission call and vocation, and venture out, then we will be successful,” he added.

Longkumer stated that it is his 26th year in the business and little more than 15 years going around as a resource person to encourage Naga entrepreneurs. However, he said that he was quite adamant to come and speak at the event since there have been many such events organized by Nagas but there is little success. He mentioned that he consented to come in order to have an interactive session with the local entrepreneurs.

He narrated his entrepreneurial journey to the gathering and also did an entrepreneurial test for everyone.

Earlier, in the welcome remark, P Chingmak Chang, President, LEAT stated that all the local shops have closed down in view of the meeting. He mentioned that LEAT is also one of the stakeholders under Tuensang Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) along with Hindu Business Community and Muslim Business community.
