Tuensang, January 8 (DIPR): Parliamentary Secretary for Land Resources, Village Guards, Women Resource Development, L. Khumo inaugurated the public ground at Peshu on January 5. He also inaugurated the 15th Peshu Students’ Union Silver Jubilee Memorial Football Tournament at Local Ground Peshu as Chief Guest.
He expressed his appreciation to the organising committee for introducing different events in order to bring different villages to get to know one another as well as to develop mutual understanding among the players. He added that this tournament would be a platform for all the neighbouring villages to rekindle friendship and understanding. He further said that through sports we tend to develop unity and understanding. As such, he urged the players to abstain from using tobacco/alcohol. He also encouraged the players to improve themselves so as to represent the state at the national and international level.
Welcome address was delivered by VCC Peshu. Thace chaired the program while special song was presented by Thingpis. A short speech was delivered by president (PSE) VDB Secretary.
