Lockdown extended till May 31: MHA issues news guidelines

New Delhi, May 17 (IANS): As the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Sunday extended the lockdown till May 31, air travel, metro rail services, restaurants, schools and colleges will continue to be prohibited throughout the country.
"Lockdown shall continue to remain in force up to May 31," the MHA announced on Sunday.
While it directed the states to decided the zones -- Red, Green and Orange -- taking into consideration the parameters shared by the Health Ministry, it says the "zones can be a district, or a municipal corporation/municipality or even smaller administrative units such as sub-divisions, as decided by states and UTs."
While there are different relaxations for different zones, certain countrywide prohibitions have been put in place irrespective of the zones.
Lockdown guidelines to continue unchanged till further notice
Nagaland Chief Secretary, Temjen Toy today informed that all existing guidelines with regard to the lockdown in all parts of the State will continue to remain operative till issuance of fresh guidelines. This was stated in an order by the Chief Secretary on May 17. (MExN)
Odd-even system to remain in Dimapur
Following the extension of the lockdown to May 31, Dimapur Commissioner of Police Rothihu Tetseo has informed that the system of movement of vehicles based on the registration number ending with odd numbers and even number on particular days will continue till further notice. (MExN)
