Guwahati, January 19 (MExN): A loco pilot died after getting electrocuted at Guwahati railway station Tuesday evening, an official release informed.
Siba Saikia, a Loco Pilot of Rangiya division, died after unfortunately getting electrocuted while conducting loco check of Guwahati – Murkongselek Lachit Express standing at platform No.7 of the station at around 5:40PM, the release said.
Immediately after the incident, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP) and Doctors rushed to the incident site and found him to be in state of death, it added.
Later, the moral remains of the deceased was handed over to GRP officials of Guwahati station for further course of action, and then to Guwahati Medical College. After post mortem, the body would be taken to his native place Barpathar, under Golaghat district of Assam, the release informed.
While expressing grief over the incident, the release from the Northeast Frontier Railway informed that all help is being extended from the Railway Authorities.
