Lok Sabha Elections: Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency informs

Kohima, March 20 (MExN): Commissioner Nagaland and Returning Officer of the 1-Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency has informed that it is open to receive queries and complaints related to the upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2024. Concerned citizens can contact the office via phone at 7629859582.

Notice of election
Returning Officer, 1-Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency, Sushil Kumar Patel IAS issued notice of Election stating that an election is to be held of a member to the House of the People in the Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency-1 (PC-1).
Nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or any of his proposer to Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS, Returning Officer or to Benjamin Longkap, NCS, Assistant Returning Officer, at the Office Chamber of the Commissioner, Nagaland Kohima-797 001 (1st Floor) between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm on any day (other than public holiday) from March 20 (Wednesday) and not later than March 27 (Wednesday).
Forms of nomination paper may be obtained at the place and time aforesaid; The Nomination paper will be taken up for scrutiny at 11:00 AM on March 28 (Thursday) at the Conference Hall-I (1st Floor), Office of the Commissioner, Nagaland Kohima-797001.
Notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered either by a candidate or by any of his proposer or by his election agent who has been authorized in writing by the candidate to deliver it to either of the officers specified in paragraphs (2) above at his office before 3:00 PM on March 30 (Saturday).

In the event of the election being contested, the poll will be taken on April 19 between the hours of 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

DC Kohima issues Prohibitory Order
DC Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant has informed the general public that in compliance to Rule 8 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Draught and Pack Animal Rules, 1965, an order has been issued prohibiting the manufacture, sale and use of any spiked stick or bit, harness or yoke with spikes, knobs or projection or any other sharp tackle or equipment for purpose of driving or riding and animal or causing it to draw any vehicle, which causes or is likely to cause bruises, abrasion or severe pain. The order further prohibits all the pig farms/individuals from use of cruel and illegal gestation and farrowing.

DC & DEO Kohima informs DLSC members
DC and DEO, Kohima has in a circular informed that in connection with the ensuing General Election to the Lok Sabha 2024, a meeting with the District Level Standing Committee (DLSC) for Model Code of Conduct will be held on March 21 at DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima at 2:00 PM. All concerned have been requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting without fail.
AEO Kohima informs on control room 

Assistant Election Officer Kohima has issued a notification in view of the conduct of General Election to the Lok Sabha, 2024, informing that a Control Room and Call Centre has been set up at the DRDA Office Building, Kohima at DC Office Complex with a dedicated Contact Number 0370-2290075. Any information relating to Election Expenditure Monitoring can be enquired from the dedicated Contact Number.
Phase-I training for polling personnel at Pughoboto

The Office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Pughoboto, conducted the Phase-I training for polling personnel for the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha Election at Town Hall and DB Hall, Pughoboto on March 20. 
Speaking at the opening session, ADC & DEO Pughoboto, Tiameren Chang, stressed on the importance of fulfilling assigned duties and to enjoy the electoral process. 

Polling personnel were first trained on their duties & responsibilities and security arrangement at Polling Station by Master trainers N Thungbemo Humtsoe and Khuvili Wotsa. They also imparted training on different polling procedures, webcasting, maintaining secrecy of vote and other voting procedures.

Master trainers Esther and Khekavi Kiny also conducted hands-on training on EVM setup and connections, conducting of Mock Poll, sealing of EVMs/VVPATs with different seals, commencement, voting, closing and sealing of Poll and handling of defective EVMs. 
The training was imparted to polling personnel consisting of Presiding Officer, Polling Officer 1, Polling Officer II and Polling Officer III.
