Lok Sabha Elections: Preparations in various parts of Nagaland State

Phek, April 5 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer Phek, John Tsulise Sangtam, NCS has directed that in view of the conduct of the forthcoming General Election to the Lok Sabha 2024, the following departments have been assigned the following works to be executed and completed latest by April 10 at Local Ground, Phek Town.  

S.D.O, PWD (Housing) Phek and A.E, CAWD Phek for construction of toilets, Executive Engineer, Power, Phek for electrification at Rostrum, Gallery, GHSS (Old Building) and Local Ground, Executive Engineer, PHED Phek for water supply at Local Ground with a dedicated staff to be detailed for duty and DPRO Phek for arrangement of PA system.

He further directed the concerned department to co-ordinate with SDO (C) & Nodal Officer, Transport Management Cell, Phek, Tsenthungo E Ngullie at the earliest.

District Contact Centre Mon activated 
In view of the upcoming General Election to the Lok Sabha 2024, DC & DEO, Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma has informed that the District Contact Centre Mon has been activated with the DCC number: 1950/9485239479.

He also informed the District Control Room and Complaint Monitoring may also be contacted for any election related matters/complaint for which a dedicated Control Room has been activated since 23rd March 2024.

Training in Mokokchung
The DC and DEO convened a briefing session for all polling personnel, conducted at Mayangnokcha Govt. Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung in preparation for the second phase training ahead of the General Election to the 18th Lok Sabha in 2024. Thsuvisie Phoji, the DC & DEO welcomed all presiding officers and first polling officers to the training session and provided them with comprehensive guidance on the conduct of the Lok Sabha Elections. Emphasizing the significance of the election as a cornerstone of democracy, Phoji reminded attendees of their duty as government employees to actively participate in this monumental exercise and to commit themselves to ensuring a fair and peaceful electoral process. The second phase training for polling personnel for the upcoming Lok Sabha election was conducted at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung on April 5.

Training in Pughoboto
The Office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Pughoboto, conducted the phase II training for polling personnel, consisting of Presiding Officer, Polling Officer 1, Polling Officer II and Polling Officer III, at Town Hall and DB Hall Pughoboto on April 5. Master trainers N Thungbemo Humtsoe and Khuvili Wotsa trained the polling personnel on different polling procedures and voting procedures while hands-on training on EVMs/VVPATs setup and connections and other poll related matters were taken up by Master trainers Esther & Khekavi Kiny. The 3rd phase of training is scheduled to be held on April 14.

Closure of all gun houses
In order to maintain ideal situation for conducting peaceful, free and fair election in the district, DC & DEO Peren, Vineet Kumar has ordered closure of all gun houses under Peren District with immediate effect. Any shop owner failing to comply with the order will be liable for prosecution under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code along with cancellation of trade, the DC informed.

Randomization of Polling Personnel
DC & DEO Peren, Vineet Kumar has informed all concerned that the second randomization of polling personnel for the forthcoming Lok Sabha Election 2024 shall be conducted on April 6 at 12:00 noon in the presence of Expenditure Observer, District Election Officer and Assistant Returning Officers in the Office Chamber of ADC, Peren. Vineet Kumar has directed that no political party or candidate or any other organization or Person shall publish any advertisement in the print media on the poll day and one day prior to poll day, unless the contents of political advertisements are got Pre-certified by them from the MCMC Committee at the State/District level.
