
DIMAPUR, MARCH 6 (MExN): In another case, the Lokayukta passed an order on March 6 giving a final opportunity for the firm ‘Ace Construction’ to complete work relating to Amur Falcon Birds roosting area at Asha and Pangti villages in Wokha.
This was in relation to a case listed as “complaint against misutilisation of CSS sanctioned funds under Swadash Darshan of Amur Falcon Birds Roosting Area, Asha/Pangti Village of Wokha District by the Tourism Department.”
The Lokayukta adjourned the hearing for the sixth and last time, giving the contractor till March 24 to complete the work.
No one appeared for contractor during the proceedings, this being the 6th time that the contractor had sought for an adjournment. An application was submitted on the contractor’s behalf for extension of time.
“This is a Preliminary inquiry a 2017 and we are in 2020. The Contractor has in past also sought several adjournments seeking time to complete the work last year alone. The Contractor has again made a request for further 14 days' time to complete the work. Thus, this is the sixth request for extension of time to complete the work. As the last opportunity he is granted time till March 24 to do the needful failing which, a notice of contempt may be issued to the Contractor and Executive Engineer for non-compliance of undertaking vide the applications of extension of time and may be punished suitably,” the Lokayukta ordered.
It further directed the Investigating Officer and the technical team to inspect the spot and submit the report for completion of work.
