A Long-Awaited Answer

At around 5:30 pm on the evening of 5th October 2011, I received a call from my beloved brother Ruopfükuotuo Noudi. He was calling from the NPSC office to inform me that he had been selected as EAC as per the result declared that evening. When I heard this news, I was over-excited, overjoyed and became restless. This was the news myself and my parents had been yearning and craving to hear for the last many years. In fact, I still fail to find words to express how I felt when I got this news on the evening of 5th October.
Considering his hard works and the amount of hours he puts into his studies, I have always felt that my brother Ruopfükuotuo should have been inducted into the IAS or at least the NCS at least some 7-8 years back. He has been appearing the prestigious NPSC exam regularly for the last 7-8 years and whenever he appeared he has always been able to reach the Viva-Voice stage. However, due to hard luck, he could not make it into the prestigious NCS for the last many years. However, deep inside my heart I always knew that one day sooner or later he would certainly be inducted into the prestigious NCS and now finally the day has come. And I certainly have no words to express the satisfaction and gratification I am feeling right now.
During the years I was in Delhi for my higher studies, many friends and well-wishers expressed to me that I would certainly make it into the IAS or at least the NCS someday. Whenever I heard this, I would always reply that it is not me but my brother Ruopfükuotuo who deserve much more than me to be inducted into the prestigious civil services. And now, as I recollect these words of mine today, I can safely say that I was not wrong.
Here, I would also like to mention that this remarkable feat of my brother has been possible largely due to the unwavering faith and prayer of our beloved mother for all these years. It was my mother who never lost faith in his son and it was she who shouldered all the family responsibilities so that my brother could concentrate in his studies undisturbed and uninterrupted. Therefore, apart from the grace of the Almighty God, it is my mother who made the maximum sacrifice and contribution in making this long cherished dream a reality for us.
My brother Ruopfükuotuo had an illustrious academic record through out his high school and college years. He was a regular rank holder all through his high school years. He also secured the second position (all Nagaland ranking) in the P.U. (10 + 2) exam conducted by Nagaland University in the year 1996. He also topped the Nagaland University graduation exam in the department of Economic honors in the year 1999. In 2006 also my brother got through the NPSC exam and was selected as JDA (Junior Divisional Accountant) and he has been serving in this capacity till date. In this same year (2006) my brother had also been selected as graduate teacher through exam conducted by the NPSC. Even though, for the last 7-8 years, my brother Ruopfükuotuo had been mostly confined to his room in preparing himself for the competitive exams, he has beautifully performed all his responsibilities and obligations as a son, a brother, a government servant and a responsible citizen from Kohima Village.
My mother has always wanted at least two of her sons to be administrative officers. And therefore, to realize this dream of our mother, my brother Ruopfükuotuo chose not to go for further academic pursuits after his graduation. Instead he devoted his whole time and energy towards preparing for the competitive exams. And now, finally, his hard works and sacrifice have paid rich dividends.
Lastly, I would like to sincerely thank all the Pastors and Deacons of the Khedi Baptist church who have unceasingly prayed for us all these years. In particular, I would like to thank Pastor Neisalie Keretsü and his family for their prayer and moral support all through out.
