Kohima, February 4 (MExN): The Longding battalion of the Army apprehended an alleged Assistant Political Officer of “NSCN (U)” identified as Jangnee Lukham on February 3 night at Arunachal Pradesh’s Longkhao village. A press release from Col C Konwer, PRO (Defence) informed that Jangnee was apprehended with a pistol, ammunition, extortion notes and other “incriminating evidence”. The cadre, according to the release, admitted to being active part of the group since 2011 and to have been part of NSCN (K) from 2010 to 2011. “The cadre has been actively involved in extortion and high value abduction cases in Longding and has been apprehended twice before in 2011 and 2012 by the Security Forces,” the press release alleged.
