Longleng, February 17 (MExN): The District Administration & Mahila Shakti Kandra-District Level Center for Women, Longleng in collaboration with Longleng District Legal Service Authority conducted orientation cum training programme on POCSO & PCPNDT Act for Anganwadi & Asha workers on February 15 at VDB hall Longleng.
A total of 164 ASHA and Anganwadi workers attended the programme, stated a DIPR report.
Longlang Luckpan, CDPO Longleng, in his speech appreciated MSK-DLCW and encouraged the participants to take the programme as an opportunity to learn and educated others as well.
Advocate Monyei Phom, Project Assistant, LDSA spoke on POCSO Act. She elaborated on different types of offences committed towards children below 12 years of age, also punishable under section 6 of the POCSO Act. She highlighted about the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, (JJ Act) 2015. Monyei encouraged the gathering to be more practical in approach relating to the offences under the prescribe law.
Advocate Panglang Phom spoke on pre-conception & Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (REGULATION AND PREVENTION OF MISUSE) Act, 1994 & PCPNDT Amendment Act, 2002. He encouraged the gathering to be aware of such acts and also to approach LDLSA for further details with regard to services provided. Interactive session was also held with regard to women centric schemes, women issues, health and hygiene led by WWO MSK Longleng. The programme was chaired by Advocate Chingmei panel lawyer LDLSA.
