Longleng, April 28 (MExN): A one-day district-level training programme on Routine Immunisation Micro Plan and Routine Immunisation Strengthening was held at the CMO Conference Hall in Longleng on April 28.
According to a press release from the Chief Medical Officer’s Office, Longleng, the training aimed to strengthen planning, monitoring and implementation of routine immunisation services in the district.
In his welcome address District Immunisation Officer Dr Imtijungshi Aier highlighted the objectives of the programme.
He also reviewed the current status of routine immunisation in Longleng, including HMIS data, RI micro-plan issues and health unit-wise progress on measles-rubella (MR) elimination within the district.
More than 40 participants attended the training, including Medical Officers, District Programme Manager, Vaccine Cold Chain Manager, Block Programme Managers, District Community Mobiliser, Block ASHA Coordinators, RBSK officials, Community Health Officers, nurses and Data Entry Operators from health units across the district.
Sessions during the day covered Routine Immunisation Micro Plan formats, improved and inclusive micro-planning, roles and responsibilities of health workers and Community Health Officers, quality headcount surveys, supportive supervision and monitoring, MR elimination and high-risk areas, NIS, eVIN and UWIN, cold chain and logistics management, safe injection practices and waste disposal, Adverse Events Following Immunisation (AEFI), management of anaphylaxis, conduct of RI sessions, communication planning, Vaccine Preventable Diseases surveillance, and records, reports and data use for action.
Apart from Dr Aier, the other facilitators for the training were Dr.Banglay Medical Officer Yongnyah PHC, Dr Moingan Medical Officer Tamlu CHC and Christina Vaccine, Cold Chain Manager (VCCM).
