Longleng, February 6 (DIPR): The Longleng District Planning & Development Board meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam on February 6 at DC conference hall.
Welcoming the members present the chairman briefed on the obligation of the HoDs and officers to be in the station for election related duties and avoid any unpleasant situation. Asserting that every polling station must be connected with water supply and electrified for webcasting and offline camera, the DC & DEO urged the departments concerned to complete their respective work at the earliest. He also directed the DEO (Education) to allow the schools requisite for polling stations to carry out the work for essential connections and preparations.
Pointing out that every polling station will be connected with webcasting and offline camera to ascertain unfair polling process, the DC & DEO informed that the Presiding office and his polling personnel would be held responsible for any unfair activities during the polling day. Therefore, he appealed to all the polling personnel to be mentally prepared and deliver justice to all through honesty and sincerity. “The sector magistrate and the district administration will be behind you to assist and protect you provided the polling personnel discharge their duty as per the norms and guidelines of the ECI,” added the DC & DEO.
John also informed about shortage of manpower and vehicle in the district. He directed the HoDs and the officers to submit their official attached vehicle along with complete incumbency list of employees to the DC & DEO office immediately. He further appealed to the officers to cooperate and render unconditional support to the election machinery which required collective effort for smooth conduct of election. No officer must avoid the responsibility assigned to him or her added the DC. He also briefed on the Postal Ballot process and procedure to the members.
The SDO Civil & Nodal officer for transportation, Robin spoke on transportation and urged the officers to submit the vehicle along with name of drivers and registration of the vehicle while AEO/EAC Longleng Robi Sangtam briefed on the incomplete submission of incumbency list of the employees. The EAC Tamlu & nodal officer for postal ballot reminded on the postal ballot of the employees on election duty.
