Longleng, November 9 (MExN): Longleng District Planning & Development Board meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam on November 8 at DC’s conference hall.
As per a DIPR report, the Chairman welcomed the members present and reviewed the last meeting minutes. While reviewing the last meeting the board rectified the verification committee for the Local Area Development Program. The board also discussed on shortage of Police force in the district and non-functioning of Tamlu and Yonglok Police station after it was upgraded. The Superintendent of Police Longleng, Yangba Konyak highlighted the overall strength of Police force in Longleng district.
He informed that the strength of the Police Force in the district was functioning with the same status when Longleng was under SDPO even after it was upgraded to SP. He asserted that Tamlu and Yonglok were made non-functional due to shortage of NGOs like Inspector, Sub-Inspector and ASI despite having completed the basic facilities and infrastructure development. Basing on the status report and grievances of the Police Force in the district the board recommended forwarding the matter to the concern authority.
